Shiqianzhuang Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The Shiqianzhuang Formation was named by Du Benming et al. (1991). The section for the designation is at the Shiqianzhuang Village of Xiguoxiang of Jiaozhou City, Shandong.
Lithology and Thickness
Jiaolai Basin. This formation is a group of volcanic eruptive deposits. It is composed of rhyolitic breccias, tuff and rhyolite, with dacite and trachyte on the top. It is dominated by acid rocks.

Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The formation overlies conformably or eruptive unconformably on the Bamudi Fm.
Upper contact
It is covered conformably by the Fanggezhuang Fm or disconformably by the Linjiazhuang Fm.
Regional extent
The formation occurs in the Wulian-Chengyang area, and Laiyang, Laixi and Guocheng in the Laiyang basin.
